The legendary singer-songwriter, Jon Bon Jovi and son Jesse Bongiovi were drinking rosé on a porch in the Hamptons one summer evening when Jesse referred to it as Hampton Water after Jon called it pink juice. The Bongiovi family were known for their love of rosé, and with a little persistence from Jesse and his college roommate, The Hampton Water Wine Company was born.
Keen to make a wine that encapsulates the laid-back lifestyle of the Hamptons, Jon and Jesse tried rosés all over the world before enlisting the help of French winemaker Gérard Bertrand who has been making wine in the South of France for over three decades. Together, they created Diving Into Hampton Water, a rosé that is fresh and lively with distinctive minerality. The rosé is made up of a perfect blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre grapes from low yielding vineyards to add complexity.
The Hampton Water brand launched in April 2017 and the production sold out before its official release. It reached critical acclaim in 2018 when Hampton Water ranked No.83 on Wine Spectators Top 100 list and was named the best pink of 2018.
Today, Jess and his roommate Ali dedicate their time to spreading the word about Hampton Water, meeting with restaurants and liquor stores across the country, with the occasional help from Jon.
